Golden weeping Willow / Salix Vitellina pendula

Product Description

Golden weeping Willow or Salix vitellina Pendula to give this tree its proper name is not for the small garden. The large elegant tree is beautiful in a large garden or parkland. In spring the tree produces a mass of silvery catkins which turn yellow with age.

The stems are all bright golden and weep down to the ground. As with most willow trees the Golden weeping willow prefers a damp site in sun or half shade. Ideal for sucking up vast amounts of water so good near a pond or river bank.

The tree can grow tall up to 10 or 20 metres 40-60 feet by 10 metres accross. Supplied as a 150-180cm / 5-6 foot specimen bare rooted from our nursery in north Cumbria.
